    Bumper install

    Hi,
I am preparing to install a rugged ridge bumper on my Wrangler JL. The instructions for the hoop show a washer and lock washer and bolt. In fact I have just washers and Nylok nuts. Is that just as good? I also plan to use blue Loctite.

You don't need a lock washer with a nylok nut.
the lockwasher and nylok do the same thing.

What Moejeep said. Also, sometimes manufacturers will make minor changes to hardware during a production run but will not bother to update the instruction manual.

Lastly, split washers basically don't do anything anyway.

Lock washers are garbage ...I install ALOT of high end equipment at Honda, Irving Tissue , Baxter Labs Etc
Never a lock washer ...always Nylon nut OR Blue Loctite
not both ..just my 2 sense

To loosely quote the late Colin Chapman ... "Why would we give lock washers a free ride around the track?".
