Chrome gas cap cover

My 09 came with the mopar chrome gas cap cover.

I let my gf drive the jeep full time now. She always goes to the full serve gas station in town.
Yesterday I parked next to my 09 and noticed the gas lid was crooked. Turns out it's broken. I doubt it can be repaired.

Looks like the pin corroded right off, no surprise given the salt use in SW Ontario. Looks like it just uses a rolled pin?, you may be able to take off the whole assy and replace the pin, but you’ll need to remove the whole thing because it will need to be installed from the backside with the door on. If it’s not a rolled pin, you could likely get the right size pin, drill out whatever is there and use a pin in its place.

I have/had the same one with the same issue....

Mine is 06 but the exact same from the looks of yours.
I few times it would get stuck open, then it finally broken.
I was going to try to drill it and put a steel pin in, but I haven't worked on it yet.
