Are you still running the t18 and 4.56 gears?

I’m gathering parts for mine, with the 4bt, I’m going with an SM420 adapted to a Dana 300. All my research is telling me to keep the 3.54 gears in the waggy 44’s with my 33” tires and I was worried I would have to jump to 35’s to keep the revs down on the highway without overdrive.

Yes I still have the T18, dana 20 tcase and I'm running 3.08 gears with 33" tires. I may switch to 3.54, but I have to drive it a bit more. I'm at 2000rpm at 100kmh 3.54's would bump me to 2300rpm. It still pulls good at 2000rpm tho, I think you will be fine with the 3.54's

TDI update: So far I love the swap it has way more power than my jeep has ever had and looks to be great on fuel. Initial fuel calculation is around 10L/100Km in the city not driving it easy. It rolls a little coal under full throttle. I am going to gear it from my 3.08 gears to 3.73. Cruising back roads I'm in between gears, but right now I can easily cruise at 120-130kmph with power to spare. I don't need to go that fast in my Jeep.

Surprising that you’re going to go that low with the 33’s and no OD. I’ve been really thinking about my gearing for the Dana 44’s when I swap them in with the Cummins this winter.
A CJ5 at 130km is just a scary thought!!!! I was worried with 3.54’s that it would be screaming to hit 100kms

Ya 3.54 would be 2300rpm and 3.73 will be 2450rpm at 100km. 3.54 would be perfect for the street but 3.73 would be that little bit better for offroad and a compromise for the street.
There is a great gear ratio calculator I have used for years, just remember to put in what your tire actually measures.
