So, I've got this Dog...80 LBS, likes to go for rides in the jeep and has a tendency to stumble around a bit in the back of the rocket. Not wanting her to go for a tumble this summer when the top comes off, I decided it would be a GREAT idea to purchase a Cargo Restraint system to keep her within the confines of the Jeep.

I looked and looked and came across www.BigBoyJeep.com. After some researching, came to the conclusion that overall they had a decent review and pulled the trigger on the "Basic Kit". Cost was $59.99 USD, plus sipping WITH a set of free grab handles. Now, They have a bunch of Kit's you can buy, and the Basic Kit includes the netting to cover the rear seats from the soundbar to the tailgate, and the two sides.

I placed my order in December, and it came to roughly $95 CAN after taxes, shipping and duties. I Waited a month for it to show up, but it didn't. So I shot off an email to Andrew at BigBoyJeep.com and he replied very quickly and was concerned that I hadn't received my order yet (this was last week). He assured me that he had contacted USPS about it and I was informed that they could not track the package and that they were unsure of it's location. He also informed me that he sent another one that same day, only this time sent it priority with a tracking number. I received it TODAY.

Upon the initial opening of my package, I noticed immediately that the netting came folded very nicely inside a bag inside the box. Under the bag of netting was another bag of clips and whatnot that you need to install the kit. It includes all necessary clips and Velcro straps. The only thing that it did not come with was instructions, BUT you can find them on the website along with a drawing of how to tie the "knots" in order to secure it to your rollbars.

Further unpackaging revealed that Andrew in fact mailed me the "Trail Kit" which includes the netting to cover the front seats aswell as an extra set of grab handles (I can only assume to make up for the shipping mistake) although it wasn't necessary.

The material used seems to be of a decent quality, and seems like it is sturdy enough to hold in my Mutt, and anything else I decide to throw back there. The grab handles feel sturdy, like they're up to the challenge of supporting a couple hundred pounds or more, and the clips don't feel cheap and flimsy.

So far I'm pleased with the netting, although I have not yet been able to install it yet. Once I do I will update this thread to let you know my final thoughts/opinion of the product. So Far so good!

-Packaging 7/10
I know it's just netting, nothing breakable...it was folded nicely but there was nothing that really stood out. It was sufficient.

-Material 8.5/10
Netting seems decent, could be a little thicker bit seems like it'll do what it's meant to do- Keeping things in when the top is off. Clips seem sturdy.

-Ease of install TBA

-Overall rating TBA
I have not yet installed it, so I cannot give an overall rating as of yet. STAY TUNED!

Look forward to seeing the installation, the price point on that product alone makes it an eye catcher for sure

I've always liked the look of netting on a cage. At some point I've got to get my LJ down to dirty dog so he can take measurements.

Not sure if it's $79 for the kit, OR if it's something different...but it'd be worth shooting Andrew an email to see what the deal is!!

Nah I want him to do something special up so I can unclip and roll the sides to the front. That way the niece and nephew can still climb in and out that way. Also I had his nets on my JK and the material and clips are more then strong enough for me to feel comfortable strapping baggage to the outside if I wanted.
That and I'm supporting a local Ontario business.

Oh don't get me wrong, I would have loved to support a local company, but at less than half the price of a dirty dog net on a budget that's not very big to begin with (just started my apprenticeship), it only made sense to me.

Oh I'm with ya on the price. That stuff is really cheap compared to any of the competition. But... I'm picky and want custom ;)

Yeah, if I could afford custom I would too lol

I guess we will see how it holds up when I get to put it on. Like I said, they've gotten half decent reviews and so far the customer service has been A1
